BCU Courses
Are you feeling the need to get out and go paddling? How about learning some new skills? Why not gain an award in the process? The new Star Award scheme provides the support and encouragement for paddlers. The initial awards are generic, encouraging paddlers to experience the various disciplines of paddlesport available, with paddlers ‘specialising’ at the 3* Star Award. The emphasis of these initial awards is to develop personal skills.
Why not make a weekend of it? Turn the training course into a weekend expedition involving Friday evening camping at Low Wray and Saturday evening camping at Thompson Holme. The evening sessions will be tailored to the course/group – it can be kayak/canoe relevant to award or simply for pleasure e.g. night paddle or a completely different session such as mountain biking, climbing wall, orienteering or a lake trip to pub.
