Coure Reviews: Click here

Venue: Windermere Canoe Kayak

Dates: 12th + 13th July  - MORE DATES SOON!!

ONE SPACE LEFT!!!!!!!

Price: £ 95

Award Overview:

This newly formed award is designed to develop a solid grounding in all paddles sports. Therefore, aspects of the training and assessment will be tackled in both kayaks AND canoes, both as an individual and in tandem craft. Most notably the new two star incorporates comprehensive self and peer rescue techniques as well as support stokes.

Itinerary:

The course will consist of one days training and journeying followed by a second days practice session and then assessment.

Prerequisites:

This is an ‘improvement’ award meaning if you pass you will be regarded as an intermediate paddler. Therefore, candidates are expected to have varied experience already. It is NOT essential that you hold your 1 Star award.

NB. Attending this course will not guarantee a pass. It is up to the participant to ensure that they demonstrate their experience and skills at a 2 star standard during the assessment.

First Kayaking / Canoeing Pool Session of the new year 7pm onwards.

For ANY ability level, Thursday nights at Troutbeck Bridge Swimming Pool

Due to ever increasing popularity we have now been offered the sacred prime time early evening slot (7-8 pm). -Turn up early to ensure you make the most of your time in the water.

Now younger people can learn to paddle too -without missing their bedtimes!

More details:

Participants are asked to book in advance. Please ring Windermere Canoe Kayak (Matthew or Joe Tel: 01539444451 9:00-17:00) well before the day of the session to book your place.

PLEASE ring if something comes up and you need to cancel.

The great value cost of each session will be £8 for adults, £7 for students + OAPs, £7 children (below 18) and for low-income individuals and families (means tested). If making an advance booking for five sessions the discount is £1 per person per session.

All instructional staff are volunteers and all equipment is free to hire, not a penny of your money is handled by Windermere Canoe Kayak or any part of the Total Adventure Group.

The fee is purely to pay for your time in the pool and is therefore paid directly to Troutbeck Bridge Swimming Pool – a registered charity.

However, attending the pool sessions entitles you to great discounts on a large range of equipment at Windermere Canoe Kayak, Ferry Nab, Bowness and Grizedale Mountain Bikes , Grizedale visitors centre, near Hawkshead.

Also, when the weather gets a bit warmer we move the pool session out on to the lake and therefore the sessions are a bit cheaper and a lot longer!

Thank you very much for your continued support and hope to see you soon.
